Snowed in on Mount Crumpet
Little bit of cabin fever as we have been stuck in our home for over a week due to over 2 feet of snow. We are not known much for snow let alone snow removal. We got creative and built a snow mountain in the front yard, which the kids named Mt Crumpet from the Grinch. They used it to sled all the way to the road. Well, it's Christmas Eve and the kids are crazy along with mom and dad. Merry Christmas

Winter Wonderland
So I know that all of us are getting snow right now, but for us this is a special treat. We have had a few inches and the girls were so excited to pull out their ski clothing. Now if we could only go skiing, that would be great. We have not tried skiing here, but we learned to ski somewhere else and we are a little bias to there. For fun, today we are having a neighborhood snowman contest. Everyone is building snowmen in their yards and rumor has it that one family is doing the judging...... thank goodness it is not us it is freezing here! Here are the girls making theirs with a little help. It feels so festive with the snow ...... maybe we will have a white Christmas.

A Surprise Visit
So you know that Christmas is quickly approaching when the lights are hung, your house smells like a Christmas tree, it is freezing outside and of course crazy kids ..... it all the excitement you know. We actually had a few snow flurries earlier today. And to our surprise we even had a special visitor. Upon opening the door, we were surprised to see Santa and Mrs Clause. They had come to see if we had been good this year. We were also lucky enough to get a special gift. Santa read us the story of the Polar Express and he happen to leave with each little posie one of the special bells from his sleigh. The delight on their faces and magic in the air was great. Seeing their happy faces, was our first Christmas gift. As you embark on all the holiday preparations, remember that the best gift of all can not be wrapped, purchased or even held. The gift of serving and loving one another and remembering Christ is what it is all about. Merry Christmas!

Words of Wisdom From a Turtle
So Thanksgiving came and went in a flash. We did not travel home to be with family this year. So in need of a big crowd, we invited some friends over. It was great! I have never had to cook a turkey but this year I was on. Yikes .... could you imagine the repercussion of poisoning 20 people with under cooked turkey? I am proud to announce that the turkey was very moist and cooked and no one got sick. Yea one task accomplished. Later after everyone left, we watched Kung fu Panda and I love the turtles words of wisdom. We could use some of that around here during our transition. Who would of thought a children's show could provide such insight from a turtle. Take them as needed and I hope they make you feel good. " You are too concerned with what was and what will be. Yesterday is history, tomorrow is mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present."
here's another one
